Terms of Service

By creating an account, entering data into the calculator, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. We may update these Terms from time to time as described in Section 12 below.

MarkerScore is a web-based, free educational calculator scoring eight metrics (steps, fiber, sleep, blood pressure, grip, VO2 max, HbA1c) against published population associations. MarkerScore also offers an optional account (via Supabase authentication) to save and track results over time.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. The Service is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under 18.

The Service is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for the judgment of a qualified healthcare professional. Full details, including known limitations of the underlying model, are set out in our Medical Disclaimer, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. You agree to review it before relying on any output of the Service.

Creating an account is optional and is used to save and track your results. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree not to: misrepresent your identity; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts or data; interfere with or disrupt the Service (including via scraping, denial-of-service, or reverse engineering); use the Service to violate any law; or use the Service to build a competing product from its content or model outputs. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

You choose what health metrics to enter into the calculator. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the data you provide, and the Service's output is only as reliable as the inputs you supply. Do not enter data belonging to another person without their consent. See our Privacy Policy for how this data is handled and stored.

The Service, including the scoring model, hazard-ratio curves, domain weightings, underlying software, design, text, and other content (excluding data you submit and excluding third-party sources we cite), is owned by MarkerScore or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reverse engineer, extract, or reuse the scoring model or its outputs for a competing commercial product without our prior written consent. You retain ownership of the health data you enter.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY SCORE, PERCENTILE, OR SUGGESTION IS ACCURATE OR APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR INDIVIDUAL CIRCUMSTANCES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MARKERSCORE AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR HEALTH-RELATED DECISIONS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MarkerScore and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right, including any rights of a person whose data you entered.

You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or created risk or legal exposure for us. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 8, 9, and 10) will survive.

We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United States.
